Using sensor technology to support health and wellbeing at home.

Many long-term health conditions require continuous management outside of a hospital setting, including diabetes, stroke, respiratory conditions, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal disease.

SPHERE (Sensor Platform for Healthcare in a Residential Environment) was a five-year research project led by University of Bristol that developed a range of sensors to help build a picture of how we live in our homes, in order to spot issues that might indicate a medical or well-being problem.

KWMC worked closely with SPHERE partners to involve local people in the development of the project through an ongoing process of testing and feedback.

Visit the SPHERE website for more information.
