Meet your neighbours – The Hedgehogs

Did you know that hedgehogs are in trouble. They are currently being lost from the parks and gardens of Britain at a rate of around 5% per year. That’s the same rate as tigers are being lost globally. During the Autumn 2021 we ran workshops with families in BS4  to lend them a helping hand.

During the Autumn 2021 we built hedgehog houses with local residents in BS4 to be placed in gardens, community gardens and allotments. Five workshops took place in the October Half Term with local families at the Bommie, with partners including Avon Wildlife Trust; Filwood Community Centre;  Inn’s Court Family and Community Centre and Redcatch Community Garden. We also had two drop-in sessions at the Filwood Community Market.
The workshops were free for residents in BS4 and we built a total of 70 houses with 140 local residents.

Do you have an idea for a wildlife project in BS4?
