Become a Trustee
Our board of trustees plays a vital role in achieving KWMC’s mission by overseeing strategy and guiding our broader programme.
We are seeking individuals from diverse backgrounds with varied experience who are eager to use their expertise to support our projects and activities. Trustees act as champions of KWMC, offering strategic guidance and approval of key decisions, while the day-to-day operations remain the responsibility of our staff team.
With nearly 30 years rooted in Knowle West, we are deeply committed to our local community and encourage local residents to apply. Whether your skills lie in finance, business, manufacturing, fundraising, legal matters, or people management, we’d love to hear from you.
Time commitment
- Trustees attend quarterly Board meetings lasting about 2 hours, either in Bristol or remotely.
- Additional involvement may be requested for specific issues matching your skills and availability.
- Trustees are also encouraged to advocate for KWMC within their networks.
Remuneration
While Trusteeships at KWMC are unpaid, we are open to discussing ways to address any financial barriers to your participation.
Critical Friends
In addition to Trustees, we are growing our network of Critical Friends—specialists who provide independent perspectives on our programmes, projects, or processes. Critical Friends offer honest feedback, share lessons from other contexts, or ask challenging questions that spark reflection. They are only involved when needed and do not attend Board meetings.
