In July 2025, our Radical Creators programme brought together young people (ages 10-17) to experiment with music, making and digital art while leading their own creative projects. Inspired by the new Plastic Pavilion outside KWMC – an architectural structure made from recycled plastic, created in partnership with Future Makers and artist Ben Parry – the group explored the impact of plastic in everyday life.
Over three days, the young people produced a powerful exhibition including a ‘plastics quilt’ in collaboration with artist Ramona Eve. This workshop sparked new creative ways of linking local voices with global conversations like the UN Plastics Treaty to reimagine how we might reduce, reuse and repurpose plastic.
At KWMC, we are excited to continue using the Pavilion for creative climate action. We are seeking collaborators and funders for 2026. If you’re interested in working with us around climate, youth voice and community engagement, we’d love to connect: youngpeople@kwmc.org.uk
