Bristol Grammar School raises funds for KWMC

We were delighted to be the chosen charity for Bristol Grammar School‘s Diamond’s House earlier this year. From flower sales to cake-making, students from years 7-13 raised money to support our work with people of all ages in Knowle West and beyond.

We’d like to thank the staff and students of Diamond’s House for their kind recognition and their great fundraising efforts, which raised over £930!

Fundraising began in October 2014 with the Diamond’s House Concert, where staff and pupils entertained an audience with music, comedy, drama, dance and gymnastics. This raised £225.21 through ticket sales and selling home-made cakes and refreshments during the interval.

During Diamond’s House Charity Week in March 2015 all of the House tutor groups held cake sales, whilst Year 10 pupil Sam also did a sponsored swim, raising a further £42.50!

Our Communications Officer Rachel visited BGS on 11th March to give a House Assembly and shared our 19-year story, as well as exciting future developments at KWMC, including the relaunch of our Young People’s Programme as Jump Studios and the new employment platform Eight.

On March 17th, BGS celebrated its annual Charter Day at Bristol Cathedral, when it is traditional for everyone to wear a daffodil. Each tutor group in Diamond’s House sold daffodils to the rest of the school – reflecting their house colour and ensuring that everyone had a flower to wear during the service!

KWMC would like to thank the pupils and staff of Diamond’s House for their fantastic fundraising efforts – and for doing so much to support our work.
