KWMC: The Factory, Paper Arts and Co-LAB are offering an exciting creative enterprise course combining art, design, technology and sales.

You’ll learn how to make your own laser cut products, sell them and keep the profits! 10 places are available on this course and you can sign up now: contact or speak to the team on 0117 903 0444. Deadline for sign ups is Monday 14th November at 5pm.


Take part in a series of exciting weekly workshops at KWMC: The Factory and Co-LAB, with themed activities happening in each session. You’ll get the chance to:

  • – Use Adobe illustrator to design your own products
  • – Learn how to laser cut your design at KWMC: The Factory
  • – Develop ideas for your own stall at the Makers Market, in collaboration with Paper Arts and Co-LAB
  • – Sell your pieces at the Makers Market in December and keep all of your profits
  • – Continue developing your ideas after the sessions have finished

We’re looking for people who are:

  • – aged 16 and above
  • – interested in graphic design, illustration, technology (including laser cutting) or setting up a craft stall
  • – open to trying new things
  • – able to commit to the full course (dates below). If you can’t make all the sessions please let us know when booking.

Due to the nature of the course, you will need to be able to attend all of the sessions.

Wednesday 16th November: Intro session: initial designs and pitching
Wednesday 23rd November: Design
Wednesday 30th November: Making
Wednesday 7th December: Stall preparation
Saturday 10th December: Makers Market stall at Co-LAB
Wednesday 14th December: Celebration event and Christmas party at Knowle West Media Centre


The course is being run by Knowle West Media Centre and sessions will take place at KWMC: The Factory (Filwood Green Business Park, 1 Filwood Park Lane, Bristol, BS4 1ET). The Makers Market stall will take place at Co-LAB & Paper Arts, 51-53 Merchant St, Bristol BS1 3EE.

You will need to be able to get to KWMC: The Factory for the sessions. If this is an issue, please let us know. To make things easier we can meet each week at Knowle West Media Centre (Leinster Avenue, BS4 1NL) and our staff team can organise transport to the relevant venue if required. More information will be given to participants at the intro session.
