Four times a year Knowle West Media Centre supports a new emerging artist/creative collective to work with the staff and young people involved in our young people’s programme, Jump Studios. The Emerging Creatives take up an in-house residency and work with us for up to one month to design and deliver a commissioned project.
Support for Emerging Creatives includes:
1-2-1 Coaching and / or Mentoring
How to design and deliver workshops for young people (if required)
Ideas co-creation with an experienced creative team
Co-facilitation of workshops (if required)
We’re interested to hear from anyone aged 16-25 year who is interested in developing their creative practice, enhancing their skills in facilitating small groups of young people to engage in creative projects, and those who wish to create work as part of a community media, arts and tech organisation.
Residencies take place at Knowle West Media Centre, Leinster Avenue, Bristol, BS4 1NL.
Our next Emerging Creatives project, recruiting end of September 2017, will look to work with 1-2 creatives who will take the lead on transforming our main studio space into an exciting games-themed, immersive space for our upcoming Gaming & Anime Expo.

Jasmine and Nick were the first young creatives to be commissioned as part of our new Emerging Creatives programme. During our Summer Programme 2017 they worked alongside local young people to develop ideas to decorate a piano which was brought to Knowle West as part of the Play Me, I’m Yours project by artist Luke Jerram. Over two days they painted a swarm of beautiful butterflies onto the back and lid of the piano.
