MADE in South Bristol is a new programme, beginning in November 2020, that will support people aged 18+ in South Bristol to develop business and product ideas and begin to test them out using digital making technologies.
The Growing Creative Business strand matches existing creative businesses and entrepreneurs with the support they need to grow. Businesses can benefit from a minimum of 12 hours support, with access to a variety of interactive workshops, specialist talks, and mentoring and coaching sessions.
This strand is for creative business, sole traders, freelancers and entrepreneurs who are currently trading or own a registered business. This programme is not suitable if you are not a registered business or currently trading – the Exploring Creative Enterprise strand may be more suitable for you.
We’re fine tuning the programme as we speak! Here’s a sneak peek of workshops that will be available:
– one-to-one support sessions
– Sustainability workshops (from production to circular economies to operations)
– Advanced prototyping (including testing new processes/equipment)
– Access to finance
– Planning for success and failure
MADE in South Bristol uses a ‘blended’ delivery model, combining online sessions and face-to-face activity – in line with COVID-19 Health & Safety guidance. On top of workshops, participants will be invited to join Factory talks like the recent INSPIRE Talks and access specialist equipment at KWMC The Factory.
MADE in South Bristol: Growing Creative Businesses will begin in January/February 2021. In light of changes to national COVID-19 regulations, we are regularly reviewing the programme and are prepared to move all activity online if necessary.
You can apply now using this online form. If writing is not an accessible format for you or you prefer not to write, please contact Emma at The Factory and she’ll help fill out the form.
Alternatively, you can record yourself answering the questions by speaking into your phone (either video or audio).
