Virtual Realities presents: VR Experience Sessions

From virtual safaris to immersive space stations, interactive rainforests and 360° tours of refugee camps, Virtual Reality (VR) enables new kinds of documentary…

Experience some groundbreaking, immersive work at these drop-in VR Documentary Experience Sessions, hosted by researchers from the ‘Virtual Realities’ project.

Members of the research team will be on hand to answer questions about VR and immersive documentaries. There will also be an opportunity to learn about a three-month research study that will enable Bristol households to experience VR documentaries at home.

Session dates and times

Wednesday 22nd August: 11am – 1pm
Thursday 23rd August: 4pm – 7pm
Tuesday 11th September: 10.30am – 12.30pm
Thursday 13th September:  5pm – 7pm

All sessions are drop-in and free to attend!

What to expect

The VR Documentary Experience Sessions will operate on a drop-in basis (with some pre-bookable slots allocated to some of the larger experiences). See http://vrhouseholds.co.uk/events for more information.

Drop-in VR Documentary Experiences allow people to choose from a selection of VR documentaries to watch via Oculus Rift, Oculus Go and Samsung Gear VR.

Bookable VR Documentary Experiences allow people to experience some more complex, interactive VR works via HTC Vive.

Experienced staff will make sure you are comfortable and safely look after your belongings.

Please note: young people under the age of 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
