Knowle West is unique as a neighbourhood in having its own Public Art Strategy (written in 2011), you can take a look HERE
With so much housing and other development happening in the neighbourhood now – the community have come together this spring / summer to look fresh at the strategy and think about the potential for Public Art in the area.
You are invited to join the next open meeting about ‘Public Art in Knowle West’ on Tuesday 28th September 10am – 12pm hosted by Knowle West Media Centre at KWMC or via Zoom.
Don’t worry if you haven’t been able to join one of the meetings yet, we will start with a re-cap of what has happened so far and look forward to welcoming everyone. You don’t need to have any prior knowledge or previous experience of working in or talking about Public Art. If you live and / or work in the area, are passionate about communities coming together to make creative and social change happen or just curious to find out more then this is for you.
The meeting will focus on exploring some new opportunities for Public Art commissions that have arisen in the community lately. It will be a chance to:
-find out more about these opportunities
-review and connect ideas developed so far
-create a plan for taking ideas and community priorities to developers
Please RSVP by emailing email@example.com and let us know if you would like to attend in person at KWMC or via zoom and if you have any access needs.
Do share this invitation with any one you think maybe interested.
