10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location: KWMC: The Factory, Filwood Green Business Park
In this day-long workshop you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to choreograph lights with code to use in custom made pendants and brooches.
There will be an introduction to programming a small, inexpensive microchip to flash, blink, and fade lights. We’ll then embed these into jewellery, using laser cut shapes. The day is geared towards people with little or no experience in code, and you’ll have the chance to learn the basics, and see some example that might inspire delving further.
The workshop will be lead by Becca Rose Glowacki, a regular on the e-textile circuit, and co-runs Estiches Bristol – a monthly meet-up for all things wearable tech.
This workshop is for people with no prior experience – the activity will lead through the steps in a friendly, and accessible way. If you do have some experience that is great too – please come along and refresh your memory on some of the basics.
Lunch will be provided free of charge on both days, and we highly encourage all participants to remain at The Factory over the lunchtime break to meet and connect with each other and develop discussions around the workshop content and themes.
This workshop is free and open to participants and applicants of the ‘Making It’ training programme. You must be able to attend both workshop days.
Making It is part of the WIDJET programme delivered in partnership with the West of England Combined Authority.
