Would Like to Meet: Commons Sense Special

23/05/2018
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Knowle West Media Centre to launch a new programme of events exploring sensors, data, technology – and us.

Digital sensors are all around: every day things are ‘sensed’ by smart technologies. But what data can and should be collected? Is it used for the common good or corporate gain? Commons Sense is an interactive exhibition exploring sensors, data and ‘the commons’, made in collaboration with artists Becca Rose and Pete Bennett.

Be one of the first people to explore the exhibition on 23rd May, during two special events:

Figuring (4.30 – 6pm)

Work with dancer Lisa May Thomas and her collaborators to create a short movement piece to be shared at Would Like To Meet. The workshop will include movement activities, sensor and Virtual Reality tech and a room of giant string-figures (cats craddles).

Would Like To Meet: Commons Sense Special (6 – 9pm)

Interested in how tech and data can be used for the common good? Meet new people, explore sensor tech, play with interactive artworks and watch a live performance of ‘Figuring’ at 6.30pm (see above), developed by Lisa May Thomas andcollaborators.
