Making Together: Tech, Tools & Tactics to Level Up Communities

28/10/2020
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Online Event

Housing is the most unaffordable it has ever been.

Inequality is severe and has been made starker by COVID-19. What hope is there for “levelling-up” people and places?

This event explores new tech, tools and tactics for how communities can play a stronger role in revitalising our neighbourhoods: from embracing digital construction technologies to a new Community Power Act that gives communities formal powers to lead change.

What action by government and others is needed to make these opportunities real – on a scale that matters?

Speakers:

– Danny Kruger – MP for Devizes and author of ‘Levelling up our communities: proposals for a new social covenant’

– Mollie Claypool – Automated Architecture Labs (AUAR)

– Amahra Spence – MAIA Group

– Melissa Mean – We Can Make

– Jacqui Glass – Transforming Construction

This event is co-hosted by Bristol Housing Festival, Knowle West Media Centre and Automated Architecture Labs (AUAR).

The event includes an invitation to the Making Together digital gallery, where you can explore an online exhibition and chat to other visitors.

This is an online event. You will be sent a link to watch the panel discussion, instructions for submitting questions, and a link to the digital gallery on the morning of the event.
