10:00 am - 2:00 pm
KWMC: The Factory brings together digital fabrication technology, cutting edge designers, and community-led enterprise.
We fuse art, tech and community creativity to design and make bespoke furniture that is sustainable, adaptable and highly desirable.
Join us for a day of networking and making activities, with visitors from different making disciplines and local people. We’re working with Architecture students from theUniversity of the West of England and local people to explore reuse, upcycling and making furniture and other items. We’d like to expand this to involve other local maker businesses, artists and artisan craftspeople to create a collaborative hub from KWMC The Factory.
The event is part of Make:Shift:Do – a nationwide programme of craft and innovation workshops organised by the Crafts Council in partnership with the V&A, Institute of Making at UCL and Ultimaker. Make:Shift:Do celebrates digital innovation in craft by encouraging spaces to throw open their doors to the public so they can have a hands-on experience of digital making.
The event takes place at our digital manufacturing space: KWMC: The Factory, Unit 25 Filwood Green Business Park, 1 Filwood Park Lane, off Hengrove Way, Bristol,
