Knowle West was the future of housing 100 years ago when it was founded as the ‘5,000 island forest’: 5,000 homes on a hill on the edge of Bristol, all designed according to garden city principles.
It may prove to be the future of housing again as this estate community experiments with new, citizen-led approaches to creating affordable housing that meets community needs.
This guided walk* includes beautiful vistas, chats with local people and a tour of the first prototype We Can Make home. There’ll also be tea and cake.
Book online or in person at Watershed Box Office: www.watershed.co.uk or 0117 927 5100 (open Mon – Fri from 9am and Sat & Sun from 10am).
