3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
You’re invited to join the Change Creators for their final exhibition and graduation event – and see how they’ve been using technology to tackle issues around recycling and mental health.
The Change Creators are a group of 18-25 year olds who want to make a positive change in the world using the power of arts, media and technology. Five months ago they embarked on a creative leadership programme and they’ve gone on to develop two social change projects: Wastey Food focuses on using sensors and creative technology to monitor and reduce food waste, while it’sok; have been campaigning to diversify mental health services for young people in Bristol.
Following the Bristol Approach to Citizen Sensing and working collaboratively with artists, technologists and citizens, the teams have:
developed a SMART bin which has been collecting data in homes to measure people’s daily food waste trends
created a mental health sensing booth which uses facial recognition technology to track people’s emotions and responses to a film about mental health
The team will be sharing their findings and you’ll have an opportunity to play with the technology and find out more about how young people are using technology and the arts to make their city ‘smarter’, greener and more connected.
Please RSVP to Mena so we can make sure we have enough refreshments.
