Knowle West Media Centre is fully accessible, including a lift to the second floor, two parking spaces for the use of disabled visitors and an accessible toilet. We welcome assistance dogs.
There is free parking available onsite in our car park. An overflow car park is sometimes available for large events – please contact us to find out when this is the case.
…from the centre of Bristol, Bedminster or Hengrove
The most direct route from the centre of Bristol is that of the 90 bus (operated by First). It runs between Broadmead and the Hengrove Bus Depot every 10-15 minutes during the day (Monday-Friday). The nearest bus stops are at Donegal Road, which is a 5 minute walk from KWMC, and Melvin Square, which is approximately 5-7 minutes.
…from Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Withywood and southern Bristol
The 36 bus (operated by First) runs between Hengrove and the centre of Bristol every 20 minutes during the day (Monday-Friday). It passes through Leinster Avenue, stopping outside KWMC. Taking this bus from central Bristol will give you a scenic tour of east Bristol, including Lawrence Hill, St Anne’s and Brislington – so it’s best avoided if you’re in a hurry!
…from anywhere else
If you’re visiting us from an area of Bristol we’ve not mentioned, we’d recommend that you head into central Bristol and catch the 90.
We have cycle racks outside KWMC and showers that you can use if you’re coming by bike. A cycle path runs through Bedminster to Lynton Road, terminating at the western edge of Knowle West at the bottom of Novers Hill. Cycle paths are also provided on major roads Hartcliffe Way and Hengrove Way. Knowle West is a hilly neighbourhood, but don’t let that put you off! Wedmore Vale is a minor road recommended by local cyclists. A map of Bristol for cyclists is available from the Better By Bike website.
Our nearest train station is Bristol Temple Meads. There is a taxi rank at the station and your journey to KWMC should take approximately 15 minutes. There is no direct bus route to KWMC from the station, so we’d recommend you catch the 8 or 9 bus into the centre of Bristol and get off outside the Bristol Hippodrome theatre. Pick up the 90 bus (in the direction of Hengrove Depot), as described in the ‘…by bus’ section.
