Jack Cooper

Project Coordinator for Young People and Making

Jack Cooper is a Project Coordinator at Knowle West Media Centre working with young people on the Jump Studios after school programmes. Having started out as a participant on The Male Room retreat, then volunteering at the Creative Hub after school sessions he progressed to working as freelance youth facilitator with the media centre and then moving into his current role. He is now working across all the Jump Studios after school projects in the planning and delivery of sessions and running the media centre’s music programme for young people, Sound Wave. Within the music programme young people are able to try out different instruments, learn about constructing their own songs and learn how to record in a music studio.

His work with young people at Jump Studios aims to create a safe, inclusive and encouraging space for them to explore and create in a range of different activities around tech, art and music. This includes working with young people across different age ranges predominantly 10-16 and 16-24. Throughout his work with KWMC he has also be able to gain experience off site working on holiday programmes, in person school sessions and creating connections with the local community.
