At Knowle West Media Centre, we’re dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can access our facilities and fully engage in our activities.
Below is some helpful information to assist you in planning your visit. If you have any questions big or small, or would like to speak with a member of our team, please get in touch. We’re always happy to help.
Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC)
Our eco-building community tech hub with flexible meeting rooms, event spaces, offices, music production facilities, kit room of tech to borrow, plus our Making Space full of digital fabrication facilities – including a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, 3D printers, digital embroidery machines, UV printer and more!
- Location: Knowle West Media Centre, Leinster Avenue, South Bristol, BS4 1NL. Click here for directions on Google Maps.
- Entry: If the main doors are closed when you arrive, please press the buzzer to the left of the doors and one of our friendly Front of House team members will welcome you in.
- Accessibility: The building is wheelchair accessible, although the doors are not automatic. If you would like any assistance with the front doors, please press the buzzer and a member of our friendly Front of House team will be happy to support you. A lift is available for access between the ground and first floors, or alternatively, there are 20 steps (two sets of 10) with handrails.
- Parking: Two designated accessible parking spaces are available. We also have seventeen free bay parking spots. Street parking nearby is also free.
- Cycling: There is a large bike rack in front of the building. A bicycle repair kit is available on site.
- Toilets: An accessible gender-neutral toilet is located on the ground floor and does not require a RADAR key. Baby changing facilities are also available in this toilet. In addition, there are separate toilets available for anyone who prefers to use male or female designated spaces.
- Support: Personal assistants and assistance animals are welcome.
KWMC & WeCanMake Factory
Shared between KWMC and WeCanMake, The Factory hosts a large woodworking space and CNC Router. As this is a busy functioning space, visits are by appointment only – please email thefactory@kwmc.org.uk.
Please note our digital fabrication kit has MOVED to create a Making Space at KWMC on Leinster Avenue (see above).
- Location: The Factory is located at Unit 24/25, Filwood Green Business Park, South Bristol, BS4 1ET. Click here for directions on Google Maps.
- Entry: Press the button to the left of the front door to open it automatically. If the door does not open, please ring the doorbell and one of our team will welcome you in.
- Cycling: There is a dedicated pedestrian/cycle footway running along Hengrove Way and we have secure storage for over 20 bicycles. There is also a bicycle repair kit available on site.
- Parking: There are designated parking spaces for disabled visitors and plenty of free bay parking spots. Street parking nearby is also free.
- Accessibility: The building is wheelchair accessible. A lift is available for access between the ground floor and first floor, or alternatively, there are 25 steps with handrails.
- Toilets: There are two toilets on the ground floor. These are accessible, gender-neutral, and do not require a RADAR key.
- Support: Personal assistants and assistance animals are welcome.
