KWMC is seeking an experienced and passionate music/sound practitioner with an interest in creative technologies and digital music to support SoundWave, our innovative sound/music programme for young people aged 10-17.
This programme empowers young people from Knowle West and South Bristol communities to develop their creativity through music and sound production.
We are looking for someone with 3+ years of experience facilitating creative music or sound activities for young people. The role primarily involves in-person delivery of workshops, with a focus on inspiring and engaging participants while supporting their musical development. Evening work will be required.
You will:
- Deliver SoundWave workshops designed for skill-building and creative expression.
- Plan and evaluate sessions collaboratively with the Young People’s Programme team.
- Inspire young people to explore their creativity using audio and music tools.

Job Details
Job Title: SoundWave Programme Associate
Contract: Freelance, fixed-term (12 months)
Fee: £27 per hour
Hours: Minimum 5 hours per week (term time), with additional hours during holidays and training
Working Day: Wednesdays (3:30–8:30 PM)
Location: Knowle West Media Centre, Leinster Avenue, Bristol, BS4 1NL
