Jump into…Manga was a 10 week creative course giving 10-19 year olds the opportunity to get to grips with storytelling through the art of manga and comic creation. The course will introduce participants to the Japanese art form, using traditional paper-based techniques and technology.
You will work towards releasing your one page comics at KWMC’s third annual South Bristol Gaming & Anime Expo, with the opportunity to further develop your ideas after the launch. The course will give young artists the chance to:
– develop skills including storytelling, character development and authentic styles
– receive online and printed versions of their comic
– launch their comic at the South Bristol Gaming & Anime Expo
This course is ideal for budding artists or young people who have a passion for comics, illustration and manga / anime, even if you are yet to pick up a pencil!
The course will be separated into two age groups: 10-14 and 15-19.
Sessions take place weekly at Knowle West Media Centre, Leinster Avenue, Bristol, BS4 1NL.
