The Future of Data: Taking Back Control?

17/10/2017
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Earlier this year Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC) and 3Gs Development Trust worked with young women from Bristol and Wales to explore how we’re sharing our lives online – and who else can see.

Join us during Digital Bristol Week for your last chance to see an exhibition exploring these issues (‘Women, Data & The Future’) and hear provocations from a panel of speakers who will unpack the future of data ethics, privacy and value, and prompt us to imagine a future where citizens make informed decisions about who sees and benefits from their data.

‘Women, Data & The Future’ explores women’s relationships with, and experiences of, data and includes artwork made in collaboration with the young women by artists Stefanie Posavec, Erica Jewell, Eliza Lomas, Amak Mahmoodian, Charlotte Biszewski and Lizzie Philps.

Speakers

Mara Balestrini – Partner & Research Director, Ideas for Change
Ed Boal – Deputy Head of Digital Media & Technology, Gregg Latchams
Andrew Charlesworth – Reader in IT and Law, University of Bristol
