Can you imagine a future where ‘regeneration’ initiatives benefit artists and communities the most? How could we make this a reality for Knowle West and beyond?
Check in to the first Artist Hotel for the full experience: a night-cap, ‘fireside’ entertainment, sleep-over and breakfast!
For one night only this pop-up edition of The Artist Hotel will occupy the art deco Filwood Community Centre: explore the centre’s spaces, imagine its potential, meet new people and discuss how artists and communities could counter and reshape deficient models of ‘regeneration’.
Join Knowle West Media Centre to camp, play and dream.
6.30-9.30pm: opening of the new We Can Make Home – a prototype strawbale affordable house (the TAM). Includes tour, drinks and dinner.
9.30pm: Check in to The Artist Hotel.
10am-12noon: Breakfast and discussion – How and where do artists live/work/make in the city? Provocations from guest speakers.
This pop-up edition of The Artist Hotel is hosted in Filwood Community Centre with Community In Partnership Knowle West. For more information call 0117 903 0444 or email martha.king@kwmc.org.uk
Book your £15 ticket (plus booking fee) for the full Artist Hotel experience or your free place on the breakfast discussion (Breakfast discussion £3 suggested donation).
