Dementia Awareness Week: 17 – 23 May

Dementia is something that 1 in 14 people over 65 experience at any one time, but it is also something that can affect people as young as 30. It can mean a big change in how you experience the world, it can have an impact on your relationships, and can affect your memory.

However, people can live well with dementia and there are things that you can do to support your friends and loved ones. Dementia Awareness Week is about promoting the things we can do to help people with dementia do the things that they love.

Here at KWMC there are lots of activities and events that are welcoming to people with dementia. Our MemoryScapes project can also take activities to care homes or day centres, or create bespoke memory boxes for groups. To find out more or to tell us about a care home or group that you think might be interested, please contact Lucinda or call 0117 903 0444.
